With the unpredictable COVID restrictions planning weddings in 2020 and 2021 has certainly been a challenge. There have recently been smaller weddings and DIY weddings that I’ve photographed on the Mornington Peninsula as well as Bayside. I’ve also photographed some weddings were the couples didn’t want any getting ready photos (or couldn’t due to the restrictions) or reception coverage.
Sometimes couples just want the ceremony, family photos and some lovely bridal party photos. I’m always happy to discuss what I think will work out best for my couples as sometimes less coverage is actually not as relaxing as more photographs have to be taken in less time. That’s why discussing your ideas of your wedding day with your experienced wedding photographer will make sure you are provided with all the information you need to ensure your day is the best it can be.
Barn and Co. Mornington Peninsula Wedding Venue
Angie and Hudson got married on a very sunny and warm day at Barn and Co on the Mornington Peninsula. For their wedding they wanted it to be very relaxed and have the essentials captured.
They didn’t want too many photos – but they did want great wedding photography. After their ceremony at Barn and Co we took their family photos. Following that they joined their guests for drinks and canapés where they did the speeches and cake cutting.
They wanted to have speeches and the cake cutting done asap as a family member had to leave before the reception. After spending a little time with their guests I then went for a walk around the gardens at Barn and Co. to take wedding photos with the bride, groom and their son.
Being flexible with timing to suit my wedding couples is what I love. I also love wedding venues that listen to what couples want and are happy to cater to their needs. A quick walk and some precious photos and then they were back to join their guests.
I didn’t stay for the reception, but I took some photos in their reception room before I left. It looked stunning and was definitely going to be a great night of celebrations.
DIY Mornington Peninsula Wedding
I was so fortunate that Fiona and Paul had been recommended to me. Most of my work is referral based and I’m always grateful. Fiona and Paul were an absolute joy.
I had met Fiona to discuss and plan their wedding photography coverage before their wedding day but only met Paul on his special day. They once again wanted amazing wedding photos, but didn’t need a full coverage of their day. Ceremony, family photos and a few precious bride and groom photos.
Such a relaxing, emotional and beautiful wedding day! For couples who only want a small photography coverage for their day I’m always happy to discuss what you have in mind and see how I can assist.
Backyard DIY Wedding
A last minute booking for a lovely family. Their ceremony was in their backyard in Beaumaris where family and some friends watched as they became husband and wife.
They had more guests celebrating with them at a Yacht Club later that evening, but I just photographed their ceremony, family and friend photos and then family photos next to the beach.
Another wonderful relaxing wedding day with flexibility in timing. The wonderful thing about these weddings is that the couples knew what sort of wedding day they wanted and we made it happen. Awesome and fun days with beautiful imagery to remember their special days.
